She Seems Nice

Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) shows us again why most Americans think that Republicans are racist:

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), running for election against an African-American man [Ed. – Democrat Mike Espy, an African-American former congressman and agriculture secretary–TG], joked in a video posted online that if she were invited by one of her supporters to a “public hanging,” she would be in “the front row.”

The clip was published on Twitter Sunday by a Mississippi blogger, who said Hyde-Smith was campaigning with a cattle rancher when she made the comment.

“If he invited me to a public hanging, I’d be on the front row,” Hyde-Smith said. There was no further context for the remark immediately available.

And now, for the inevitable non-apology:

“In a comment on Nov. 2, I referred to accepting an invitation to a speaking engagement. In referencing the one who invited me, I used an exaggerated expression of regard, and any attempt to turn this into a negative connotation is ridiculous,” Hyde-Smith said.

So you see, you haters are the REAL RACISTS for suggesting that the very white Republican from Mississippi, Cindy Hyde-Smith when joking about a lynching was being anything other than humorous.

Hyde-Smith is running for the US Senate; there is going to be a run-off between herself and Espy Nov. 27.

My late Father admitted to me a few years before he passed away that he knew that his father (my Grandfather who passed before I was born) attended several lynchings near their home in Anderson, SC. The family never discussed this openly, and based on the reading I’ve done over the years about lynchings I can understand why: any initial enthusiasm was usually tempered when it came time to witness the death of another human being. Usually a short rope was involved, which resulted in a lengthy and gruesome death by strangulation. I won’t even go into the reports of people being burned alive, I’ll let you imagine that particular brand of gruesome.

If I were a betting man, I’d wager Friday’s paycheck on this lady not being able to hold her lunch during the event. Racist folks certainly talk big, don’t they?

      ‘Spoon –

I learned that the park across the street from where I lived (briefly) was the site of one of the last lynchings in California. I had a very hard time looking out the big window at the park, and moved shortly thereafter.

It’s not just the South people.

I was brought up to despise that kind of terrorism and the people that perform it. I couldn’t understand why that form of hate is tolerated much less not incarcerated. Now I see tRumpalini and I begin to understand how ingrown that cancer is. He has brought out the very worst in our Country as well.

Hyde-Smith might not be able to stomach the spectacle but I can damned well believe her ilk would bring back that kind of terrorism in a heartbeat if they could get away with it.

The era of political correctness is over on the right, however, the right still expects and demand political correctness on the left. Thanks, Ben Shapiro.

If she was speaking to the audience of one, he doubtless got the message. He needs help with the stochastic terrorism if there’s going to be another civil war, and she just signed up as one of his lieutenants.
