Rep. Dana Rohrabacher Defeated, And His Boss Is P.O.’ed (ALLEGEDLY)

“Trust me, comrades, why would I lie?”

Comrade Vlad has lost an asset.

“Rep. Dana Rohrabacher has lost the congressional seat he held for 30 years in one of the most conservative stretches of Orange County, a stunning defeat for the GOP as other Republicans’ early leads receded in the latest ballot counts, putting the party in fear of losing all six tightly contested House races in California.

“The defeat to Democrat real estate entrepreneur Harley Rouda represents a landmark shift away from the GOP for suburban America. No county — no part of a county — has been at the heart of conservatism since the 1960s like the coast between Dana Point and the Los Angeles County line.”

Putin is not known to offer good retirement benefits.

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Minsk) should probably expect a door-to-door perfume salesman any day now, or a special delivery of Russian Tea.

Here in L.A. there’s a veteran Latino journalist named Gustavo Ariano, who’s interviewed on the radio once or twice a week. Last week he published an “obituary” of traditional Orange County. He said the old, classic O.C.–white, Republican, rich, smug–is gone. It still amazes him but here we are. Yay!

He’s another one I’d give a “hot ham” sammich to, along with a road map – a Mama Cass ham sammich.

Minsk is still capitol of Byelorussia and though that’s really not much more than a client state of Russsia, it is sttill nominally independent. So perhaps Dana was Putin ambassador to Minsk (and informal consulat officer with “other duties” to Russian Consulate in LA).
