I thought; “I bet this is pretty good”
Another of those rare occasions where I was wrong. It was one hell of a lot better than that.
As a woodworker, I was entranced by the construction and beauty of the instruments themselves too.
And on top of all that, “marimba” is a lovely word.
A satisfying six minutes on so many levels.

When I was a wee ‘Grain, one of my neighbors was a music teacher, and he taught marimba and xylophone. I always loved the mellow tone of the marimba. So this interlude really spoke to me.

I really enjoyed the longshots where you coul see all the players; the physical structure of the music was really apparent, and I thought it was cool.

So has anyone seen the movie yet and is it worth seeing? I’m hearing very mixed reviews at this point. Meanwhile…
