Local Blogger Missed Obvious Point, Obviously.

(Hat tip: Scissorhead D-Cap)

The post last night about Kavanaugh possibly witness tampering, I missed the obvious point: It was another lie.

Kavanaugh had to know that Ramirez’s complaint was coming, because he prepared for it in advance of it becoming public, and then lied under oath about knowing that the complaint was coming:

From the testimony:

ORRIN HATCH: When did you first hear of [Deborah] Ramirez’s allegations against you?

KAVANAUGH: In the last — in the period since then, the New Yorker story.

Just trying to set the record straight. So not only did he clearly lie about knowing about the accusation, he preemptively tried to get his friends to cover his ass, as it were, that he shoved his junk in Deborah Ramirez’ face.

The worst part of this is that the Republicans will still vote to confirm this asshole, with Collins and Flake doing a lot of insincere hand-wringing.

It’s witness tampering And lying to congress. It also seems like contempt should be on the table for throwing a tantrum while in the witness chair.
If I put in a performance like that at my job interview I could count on not getting the job.
