I cannot get an official damage count, but unconfirmed deaths are around 20 and the damage in dollars is estimated (so far) to between $17B and $22B Ameros according to Moody’s Analytics.

A+ work, Comrade Stupid.

UPDATE: CNN says… The worst of Hurricane Florence seems to have passed as the storm makes its way toward the Northeast. But in its wake, Florence has so far claimed 32 lives and dumped 18 trillion gallons of rain on the southeastern United States.

If you’re referring to the death toll for Florence, it is 33 and still climbing.

18 trillion gallons of rain? We’re gonna need another carton of paper towels to mop all that up!

Now, with the flooding and industrial runoff, North Carolina is The Land of Shit and Coal Ash. This will be a problem for years.

Only down stream though, so good luck getting the corporate overlords to care. Pretty sure that we’ll be seeing a lot of soybeans in the NC food banks from that USDA farmer bailout coming down the pike. Trump will call it a win-win, then he’ll turn around and ask whoever is behind him “who put that in my speech, that isn’t really a thing.” And then I’ll walk over and sit on the “shore” and stare wistfully at our local lake and wonder what the bottom looks like.
The bottom we’re supposed to hit and then we stop going down, come on, what did you think I meanat!

I ask you, who could have possibly predicted such an occurrence? Well, except for every liberal on the planet.

I suspect Scissorhead GRS is already doing some hurricane-related assessments of the clean-up this thing will require. I cannot imagine between the pig shit and coal ash (and all the other assorted industrial pollution) how long this thing will take to return to being habitable.

GRS is a real-life hero and he’s one of ours. I hope he is safe and well.

despite declaring they’d be prepared as never before, the death toll has (and i’m afraid will) continue to rise which i’m sure will just be another leftist fake news conspiracy to make him look bad. perhaps we should be glad he was so ‘wee prepared’ otherwise he might have (oh, he wouldn’t, would he?) used higher death tolls to distract fro the russian probe and the unraveling of his ‘sure bet’, kavanaugh.
