Death of the Media
NYTimes breathlessly tells us:
“The post went up quietly on Facebook’s internal message board last week. Titled ‘We Have a Problem With Political Diversity,’ it quickly took off inside the social network. ‘We are a political monoculture that’s intolerant of different views,’ Brian Amerige, a senior Facebook engineer, wrote in the post, which was obtained by The New York Times.
“‘We claim to welcome all perspectives, but are quick to attack — often in mobs — anyone who presents a view that appears to be in opposition to left-leaning ideology.’ Since the post went up, more than 100 Facebook employees have joined Mr. Amerige to form an online group called FB’ers for Political Diversity.”
So, 100 Conservative activists inside of Facebook (which has 25,105 employees, according to the Google) feel put upon and say that the culture at Facebook is not to their liking, but to conclude that therefore Facebook is serving anti-Conservative anything to its users is really a fault of logic. Facebook wants you to stay on their website so you will be bombarded with ads so that they make buckets of Ameros. Yes, they even want Possum Hollar to stay there to buy dick pills. Go Figure.
Remember: You are the product that they sell.
And of course, yesterday Comrade Trump picked a fight with an algorithm, which is pretty stupid on the face of it. Google (and Faceberg, too) is in the bidness of selling your information to advertisers so that advertisers will buy ads on their platforms. These big tech companies already know EVERYTHING about you, they don’t care what your political leanings are, except to target what ads you see (dick pills).
So well done, NYTimes! You’ve played again right into Trump’s latest conspiracy theory and amplified it.
