And Here’s The SCOTUS Messaging We Need

That quote from Sen. Bob Casey is spot-on.

“I will oppose the nomination the President will make tonight because it represents a corrupt bargain with the far Right, big corporations, and Washington special interests,” said Casey in a statement.

“This list is the bidding of corporate special interests hell-bent on handing health care over to insurance companies, crushing unions that represent working men and women, and promoting policies that will leave the middle-class further behind,” said Casey. “Any judge on this list is fruit of a corrupt process straight from the D.C. swamp…I was elected to represent all Pennsylvanians. I was not elected to genuflect to the hard Right, who are funded by corporate America.”

And of course, he is getting lectured on Civility from the press.

Every once in a while, NO, NOT OFTEN, I would slip & say “SCROTUS”. My son would politely correct me, “mom, it does NOT have an “R”!” Today, I disagree. It is “The Supreme Court Republicans of the United States. Besides, the body part works, also, too!! That’s my opinion & I’m sticking with it!
Apologies Justice Ginsburg, Justice Kagan, & Justice Sotomayor.

FelineMama, those three justices have bigger lady balls than the remaining justices, put together, and there’s a mental image that will gag a maggot.

Yes. The GOP imagines the SCROTUS majority will simply disallow all “Democratic” rights and laws on the basis of some imagined originalist thinking that they pull right out of their collective asses. And they will disallow anything after 1890.
However, they don’t seem to realize that this will simply lead to the majority American public regarding the SCROTUS as simply a partisan arm of the GOP and an illegitimate arm of government.
Is that really what Roberts wants his legacy to be? I don’t know. He started this with Shelby and signed on to Citizens United. To what extent is he on board with making the SCROTUS just a joke?
