The Death of the Media
We’ve long said that St. Ronnie got it exactly wrong:
The nine most frightening words are not “I’m from the government and I’m here to help,” they are, “Let’s turn to our power-house panel to discuss…”
Our new rule: shut off the teevee machine when anyone (but especially CNN) says anything about a panel discussion.
Here’s Exhibit A:
“The Anti-War movement in Vietnam … The Civil Rights movement … both of those were much more civil in tone”: @David_Gergen on the ‘uncivil discourse’ of politics in 2018 compared to other historical divides https://t.co/7tlX0riUCG https://t.co/AWsCwQwRwG

First of all: BOTH SIDE DON’T. And secondly, that is some serious tone-policing going on there. The Village is in a snit that the little people are expressing themselves and not listening to their betters, ie, The Villagers.
CNN is a burning trash heap, but come’on David Gergen would have been in his 20s during the protests he lists, surely he must remember what it was really like?
