Coat Check

I thought maybe I should explain our Fashion Week post from last night. You see, Mel, our First Lady, visited some of her husband’s child hostages yesterday.

Mel visited a facility housing 12-17 year-olds, as crying, traumatized toddlers and still-nursing babies are not the optics the former soft-core model was going for. And speaking of optics, here’s the jacket Mel wore for her fashion shoot walk to the waiting helicopters:

…to which one lone voice replied:

One can argue that the coat is just a coat, and in fact Mme. DeFarge’s media flak Stephanie Grisham said just that in a disdainful statement.

“It’s a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today’s important visit to Texas, I hope this isn’t what the media is going to choose to focus on.”

No reports that Grisham screamed, “Leave Brittney alone!,” afterwards, but we can speculate. Anyway, the statement falls kinda flat in that Mel wore the jacket on her return trip, even after the public outrage over her snotty $39 couture raged on.

But you know, Mel is a mom, and has feelings too! And looking at the bright faces of the the kids—and Future Dreamers?—whom her Administration has no way of reuniting with their families, she wished them “good luck!” on her way out the door.

You just know that as soon as his staff can find Trump a tee-shirt gun that can shoot individual chicken McNuggets at the hostage kids, it will be wheels-up for Air Force One.

Her ‘let them eat cake’ jacket was at the cleaners.

Thom Hartmann just informed his listeners that “I don’t care” has a history as a catch phrase of the Italian fascists (in Italian obviously) and is a well-circulated message among our domestic rightwing nuts. Also/too, I read somewhere else today that the clothing company that put out this $39 coat has been in trouble before for a mock holocaust blouse and using symbols similar to swasticas. Seems fashion-savvy Melanoma chose her accessories “very thoughtfully,” as Tim Gunn might say.

I followed a story link from another site to an article explaining that this jacket was sold out. If I got it straight, when dipshits, er, certain factions saw the jacket they all ran out and bought them up, so the company is out right now. I don’t even care if I got it straight, it sounds about right for these jerks.

Is this company part of the Trump empire of crappy clothes-like-assemblages-of-cheap fabric?

Well, when has Melania ever worn a jacket that cost $39? And since when do you need a coat in Texas? This was a diversionary tactic dreamed up by Idiots R Us and yet another finger in the eye to those of us who are actual human beings with feeling for our fellow human beings.

    I can’t even.

Just really, I felt something inside click when I saw some of the footage of the boys in the old Walmart and the screaming children left alone. Something broke in me, something just snapped. I’ve been pissed at this administration and at Trump for so long, I thought I was numb, but this broke me. Goddamn those bastards to hell.

THAT, it seems to me is the clue. 39 bucks for an off-the-rack coat for the model/FLOTUS of a multi-billionaire President? Of course she has wardrobe and ‘optics’ people. We blow up, then, they pass budget cuts through Congress.

Hillary got it wrong. Deplorable is too nice a word.

They are all trump. A trump is irredeemable, viscious and grasping. A trump is a midnight arsonist of an orphanage. A trump’s outrageous behavior at 12:05 is cover for the real shit he pulled at 11:55 and will pull again in 10 minutes. A trump wil destroy a country to piss off smart people. A trump will ‘roll coal’ to own libs. A trump will piss in drinking water, poison the ocean and bulldoze a playground for fun. A trump is a psychotic, a sociopath. A trump is the monster that walks among us, hides under the stairs.

Only we can make a trump a lesson and a warning to children.

Fun fact – I once got hired on at a manufacturing plant that was going through an uproar at the time – someone had, literally, pissed in the drinking water. It was one of those cooler bottles, but out on the factory floor, because it got hot in the plant. I have no idea how they figured out someone pissed in the water, seeing as they were jumping through hoops trying to figure out who did it. How did they know if no one saw?
I didn’t ask at the time. I didn’t really want to know. “Tastes like piss.” “How would you know -… Never mind.”

The whole goddamned tRump family needs a one-way ticket to Gitmo. Well, maybe leave Barron behind, on the hope that he grows up waaay far from the tRump tree.

      • FelineMama says:

It doesn’t seem Asshole In Chief has anything to do with Barron. Ever read, hear any father, son “get–to-gethers” with Barron? Ever hear about Dumb-Ass taking Barron on his golf trips? ANYTHING?? Keeping Barron away from de Fuehrer is The Best. Someone knows this!

This incident is so bizarre, I’m having real trouble understanding her motivation. Was she actually trying to shit on the kids she visited, or was she trying to make Dotard look bad? Is she having a breakdown? Really hard for me to say.

    • ming says:

The reason doesn’t matter. It is inexcusable in all cases.

      • MDavis says:

The very best case I can think of for this is that Melania is sending a message to Trump. She did just go through the outbreak of porn stars and bunnies, and then went to the hospital, inpatient, followed by a remarkable lack of public appearances. And she did wear the jacket on the trump-territory side of the trip.
That said, Ming is right, it is inexcusable. If it was Melania’s idea she should have been stopped. That should be one of the jobs of her assistants. That she wasn’t stopped is disturbing but what are donnie and “friends” doing while media attention is on this incident. Does anyone know?

zara, the company that made her coat, also made striped holocaust pajamas (complete with yellow star of david they tried to claim was an homage to western sheriffs) and a swastika-adorned handbag (they tried to dismiss that one as the buddhist/hindu sign of peace except the arms face the opposite direction making it definitely more nazi than peace), but nooooo there’s no hidden meaning.

So, Melanoma got up and flew (on the taxpayer’s dime) all the way to Texas where she paraded her skinny ass through a juvenile immigration detention center as part of “an important visit”. Now, we are not supposed to get sidetracked and mention the abominable message on the coat she chose to wear.

Just as a matter of interest, what was so important about that visit? Did she say, “Olly-Olly Off and Free?” Didn’t think so. Did she say, “My husband is an asshole?” Too much to ask for.
I understand it’s hot in Texas, Tell me she at least treated them all to an ice cream cone.
