About Last Night…

The Villagers are writing today about the inherent flaws in the so-called Jungle Primary system, rather than write about how wrong they were that the Democrats would be shut-out. The Villagers still want their Dims in Disarray headlines, you know, for balance. Kooky California, etc., but not “Republicans Fail To Shut-Out Democrats.” Go figure. The Villagers need to get out of the Village between cocktail parties, and not just to Possum Hollar for the anthropology beat…

Here’s the bottom line: the Republicans did not shut out anyone, nor did they gain any likely congressional districts; at least not yet, the votes are still being counted and a few races are close. The Primary worked as designed: it’s a Top Two (Ed. I hate, Hate, HATE calling it a Jungle Primary). In California, the Republicans have fewer registered voters than Independents; they essentially are a third party with a few strongholds that might not be that strong come the general election.

The Gub’nor’s Race: There was one YUGE eff-up in that 100,000+ Angelenos were dropped from the roles due to a printing error. Former LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa asked for the polls to remain open for those voters, but ultimately conceded to Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom. Villaraigosa was trailing badly by more than 500K votes, so even in the unlikely event that the entire printing-error voters had gone for him, he would still be in third place. So, Newsom will go up against Republican John Cox (whom Comrade Trump endorsed, and will soon be  crowing about that).

Just checked:

That was too easy.

Interesting side note. I live in the ‘foothills’ of Ca. in Calaveras County and there are reports of “running out of ballots” before 3pm in both my county and neighboring Amador County. Also the ballots were set up mostly according to the “voters guide” previously mailed out. Except for 2 ‘bubbles that had the order reversed, so that if you voted straight across as my guide had been notated then I would have voted for a Rethug Sheriff and some other local rethug. Interesting that all the other races transferred over directly from the guide except for 2 and both of those were Rethug?
And no, I am not ready for a tin foil hat, yet.

Yeah, I got disgusted watching the “Democrats are realllllly worried about these races in California…” show over at MSNBC and switched it off. They even had an ostensibly neutral journalist covering the elections in California who proclaimed the Democrats’ resistance to Trump here is so over-the-top and extreme that it’s backfiring and bodes really well for the GOP in November. These are the same folks who keep saying that Russian collusion hasn’t been proven…yet.

Welcome is the Jungle Primary Evil, where nary a sane hand of man has set foot. On media, pay no attention to what you hear and precious little to what you see, Believe only your nose.

That tweet is beyond pitiful. At this point he’s just recycling a set of ego-fueled clichés every time he comments on anything.
