Some More Thoughts on Fredo, er Squiggy, er, Junior

One of the things that was lost on me as the latest news about Fredo, er, Junior having a meeting with representatives of gulf-state countries offering to help Candidate Stupid’s election, is that it establishes a pattern of behavior that they were willing to meet with foreign powers and they had a complete lack of regard for US Campaign Laws.

There’s a lot we do not know (yet) about this meeting other than there was some sort of discussion about manipulating Social Media.

What we do know now is that Candidate Stupid’s 2016 Goat Rodeo campaign was involved with multiple countries that are known for being sketchy, some people known for being sketchy, and a lot of probably sketchy meetings, resulting in sketchy agreements, and payments with sketchy people from sketchy places.

As the NYTimes reminds us:

It is illegal for foreign governments or individuals to be involved in American elections, and it is unclear what — if any — direct assistance Saudi Arabia and the Emirates may have provided. But two people familiar with the meetings said that Trump campaign officials did not appear bothered by the idea of cooperation with foreigners.

So Much Winning.

Anyway, we are left now wondering of Trump Inc:

    • were on the take
    • didn’t care
    • didn’t understand what they were doing
    • all of the above

Trump’s Razor tells us to ascertain the stupidest possible scenario that can be reconciled with the available facts and that answer is likely correct, so Imma go with the last option, all of the above.

(Axios has a good brief up)

Imma go with one more option: All of the above plus more. For a while, I kept thinking that this mess couldn’t get any worse, and they keep proving me wrong. So now I try to expect that it will get worse.

What I don’t understand, in light of all this new info, is the look of complete shock on tRump’s face when the final results were tallied, and he was announced the winner of the goat Rodeo. And many of his aides that were surrounding him had the same dumbstruck expression on their faces as well. Were they surprised that their efforts were so successful? Because at first I thought it was due to the fact that EVERYONE surmised and assumed that Hillary was the winner, but now we may have a different take on the situation.
And if any Scissorheads are going to be travelling from CA to either DC or FL soon, I would like to hitch a ride, to see if an ordinary citizen can place a sitting president under citizen’s arrest. An attorney friend suggests it’s plausible, so why not give it a try?

I still maintain that he didn’t want to win, it was just a grift to up his value as a celebrity.

It’s possible the Russians didn’t tell Donnie they were rigging the vote totals that would give him a 1% margin. Why tell the buffoon something that he’ll just blab to the world?

Trump made money on the campaign and he was going to make money afterwards. Sort of the way he’s doing it now, except he can use the gummint to reward and punish his business partners, as required. Looking at you, Qatar.

Also too. It annoys me whenever anyone talks about Eric Prince as head of Blackwater but then neglects to add that he’s Betsy DeVos’s brother.

I have a quibble – let me fix this for you:
” … and they had [and have] a complete lack of regard for US Campaign Laws.”
Laws they are not interested in. Consequences, they are.

Despite Junior’s avalanche of felonies, cue Rudy’s next astute constitutional pronouncement: the son of a sitting president CANNOT BE INDICTED because it’s never been before and Gerald Ford’s son admitted to smoking marijuana once.

I almost thought I agreed with a Fox News chevron, “TRUMP JR: THERE IS NOTHING THERE.” Then I found out they didn’t mean his intellect.

Deals with Russia deals with China deals with Saudi Arabia and deals with the United Arab Emirates. Like what did Squiggy think he was doing — a Rogue Nations Tour?
