Dr. Ronnie’s Nomination Is In Trouble After All

Yesterday I bet 500 Quatloos that Dr. Ronnie Jackson would get his nomination to lead the VA inspite of being as unqualified as Harriet Miers or Betsy DeVos or Ben Carson, and now it looks like his nomination is in serious trouble… but not for being unqualified.

Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) morning email thingie:

“Republicans are considering postponing his confirmation hearing this week as senators pour over potentially new negative information that committee members have received, according to GOP sources familiar with the matter. And Senate Democrats are digging into his record after being made aware of potential new problems with the nomination. …”

But none of the usual gossip mongers is saying what the negative information is, however, CBS decided it is newsworthy:

“Sources familiar with the tales say Sen. Jon Tester’s committee staff is reviewing multiple allegations of a “hostile work environment.” The accusations include “excessive drinking on the job, improperly dispensing meds,” said one of the people familiar, who was granted anonymity to speak frankly about the situation. The other people familiar with the stories also confirmed those details.”

So maybe THAT explains how the corpulent mango-hued shitgibbon got such a glowing health review: perhaps Dr. Ronnie was a bit, um, medicated hisself? And no: MPS doesn’t think that addiction is funny at all. We hope if this allegation is true that he gets the help that he needs. Maybe from the VA.

    excessive drinking on the job…

Feel free to count me as yet another old man standing on his lawn and yelling at passing clouds, but when i served (once upon a time) there no such thing as drinking on the job. But, hey! Things change, amirite?

    …improperly dispensing meds…

Why not just say it – drinking and drugging on the job. Great work, if you can get it.

Not sure it qualifies Dr. Ronnie for anything other than a DD, though.

“Hostile work environment?” Hmm. Code for sexual harassment? “improperly dispensing meds,” code for helping the opioid black market or something hinky with drug manufacturers.
If it’s opioids it will not fly right now. If it’s collusion with one drug maker over another for money? Well that’s just smart business!
    “excessive drinking on the job?”
“Hey, remember MASH? Those doctors were drunk all the time, and they were great!”

They only place I’d be okay with being operated upon by a doctor partial anesthetized with alcohol, would be on a half hour comedy TV show.

Another day, another crony, unqualified for the job, but nominated anyway. What’s new?
How much longer till his nominations go straight to appointments, with no review at all?

That absurd press conference at which Dr. Ronny rattled on like a lying speed freak and proclaimed Trump healthy enough to be President For Life should have resulted in him losing his current job, losing his military commission, losing his medical license and disqualifying him for any governmental positions. It’s nice to see that events have caught up with this disgraceful hack.
