A Fine Bromance

Need I say more

From the LATimes headlines email thingie (emphasis mine):

“The images are profoundly disturbing: dead or dying families, many of them children, in a suburb of Syria’s capital. Activists and aid groups say dozens of people were killed in an apparent poison gas attack. President Trump blamed the Syrian government and warned of a “big price to pay” in tweets that also took aim at Russian President Vladimir Putin for backing Syria’s Bashar Assad — “Animal Assad,” as Trump called him. In turn, Syria and Russia labeled the accusations as “fake news.” The incident comes a year after Trump ordered Tomahawk cruise missiles launched in response to a sarin attack in Syria and just days after he said he wanted American troops to leave the country soon. Early Monday, missiles reportedly struck an air base in central Syria; Russia and the Syrian military blamed Israel for the attack. The U.S. and eight other countries want a meeting of the U.N. Security Council today”.”

They learned that trick from Prznint Stupid, methinks. It always comes back to bite you.

But as we noted yesterday, Putin is likely to get his letterman jacket back from Stupid over this. We turn now to Axios:

“Today is the first day on the job for John Bolton, President Trump’s third national security adviser, and the hawkish former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. will be instantly thrown into one of the administration’s most consequential decisions.

“CFR [Ed — Council on Foreign Relations] President Richard Haass tells me that after the chemical attack in Syria and Trump’s quick, tough rhetoric on Twitter: “Doing nothing now would be a moral and strategic fiasco.”

But that is Trump’s wheelhouse, although that would make him look WEAK, bigly!

So expect something Boltonish and Stupid.

Also too, as seems to be a Law of Nature that for every Trump Tweet there is an opposite one from his past:

and from Mr. Peabody’s Way-Back Machine:

All caps, so you know he did it hisself in 2013.

Well, we have already seen an apparently pretty ineffectual attack by Israel on a Syrian AF base that may or may not have anything to do with the gassing (i.e. using proxies). They may well have been after Iranians and just using the gas attack as an excuse.

That’s the thing with the Middle East, it has layers and layers and layers of complexity that a country as ignorant as the US never seems to get.

You’re expecting this shithead to be consistent?

It is sardonically amusing, however, that he now gets to make the decisions. He never expected his run to actually get him into the catbird seat, IMHO.

Obviously, Bolton has convinced the Preznint that he has nothing to fear from his bff Vlad. It remains to be seen whether Facebergville will agree.

It does seem that Putin likes to use poison, doesn’t it? Poison is Queen!

Uh…does this “chemical attack” remind anyone else BESIDES me of a similar series of events that played out last year?

What – every time the U.S. pulls back from the war on Syria, the SYRIAN GOVERNMENT gasses its citizens to get the U.S. back in? It’s like a really stupid Art of War adage that didn’t make the final cut:

When your enemy is nearly defeated, and victory is at hand, gas your own people so that nations with more forces and power will bomb your ass back to the stone age,” said Sun Tzu never.

Far be it for me to intimate that the CIA (or other Alphabet Agencies) are engineering these attacks (winkwinknudgenudge) but I WILL flat-out state that the anti-Assad forces can read CNN on the innernetz as well (if not better; they go for context, the president* is just looking for words he can pronounce) as the Retard in Chief and thus understand the politics at play…
