The Friday Night Slaughter

And Boom! More support for the inevitable Obstruction charges.  As if on cue to prove that he is as small as he is petty:

The small and petty part: he had McCabe fired literally hours before he would have retired with a full pension.

And of course, Comrade Trump’s personal attorney John Dowd, told The Daily Beast,

“I pray that Acting Attorney General Rosenstein will follow the brilliant and courageous example of the FBI Office of Professional Responsibility and Attorney General Jeff Sessions and bring an end to alleged Russia Collusion investigation manufactured by McCabe’s boss James Comey based upon a fraudulent and corrupt Dossier.”

The official reason that McCabe was fired is that when he talked to FBI inspectors he was not candid enough. That brings Jefferson Beauregard ‘Stonewall’ Sessions III into sharp relief (you know, not being candid enough during his confirmation hearing, i.e., stonewalling), and if it were not so sad, I’m sure Eiron the Goddess of Irony would be laughing.

All that said, McCabe is now not bound by any ethical norms and can say whatever he wants, and I am betting that the FBI is like most policing organizations and is going to close ranks. Comrade Stupid just started a war that he cannot win.

UPDATE 1: I should have included the full statement from McCabe, yes he’s off leash now:

  1. And interestingly enough, last night Michael Flynn was already IN Cali, campaigning for the R who wants Waters’ seat. And speaking rather cryptically. I should add that Flynn gets to keep his effing pension.

    What is happening?

Ah, no. The great day for Democracy will come when you are removed from office in complete disgrace, and sent to prison for your treason and countless crimes.

OK, so I’ve been consistently pushing back against the narrative that Trump is stupid, mostly because in the context of running things in alignment with “how to conduct a fascist coup 101” his actions have been perfectly sensible and not in the least stupid

    Until now.

Thinking that the rank and file in a mature organization like the FBI can be intimidated by making an example of McCabe (and why else punish him mere hours before he’s out the door anyway?) is truly fucking stupid.
They will, as TG says, close ranks and start working in earnest on ratfucking Trump at every turn. And if anyone has the goods with which to do exactly that, it’s surely must be an outfit like the FBI.

Trump will have to move fast now to kneecap Mueller’s investigation and replace any admin personnel who show signs of still possessing any shreds of personal integrity.

This is a yuge misstep on Trump’s part, and has improved my mood considerably.

I hope you’re right. From day one of this Abortion of a Presidency/Miscarriage of Justice I have felt that ultimately we will have to take to the streets, and that there will be far more bloodshed than in Charlottesville. I feel it in my bones.

Mueller is the last bulwark keeping the Rule of Law intact in this country. Unlike Watergate, we cannot rely on the Party of Traitors, the GOP, to do the right thing: quite the contrary. I think this country will see a near civil war if Trump bilges Mueller.

You can expect Trump to be like Assad if that happens. He won’t care how many die, or how much is destroyed so long as he remains in power. The Mofo may even try to derail the 2018 election by claiming a “state of emergency.”

If things do play out this way, he deserves a fate like that of Nicolae Ceaușescu. But I pray none of this happens.

Bad times ahead, folks. Really bad times.

His eternal hatred and lust for revenge will be his undoing. Even now Mueller is calmly adding another chit to the enormous number already stacked in the can called Trump/Traitor. Meanwhile, Mueller knows he’s going to be fired because Dumbshit is feelin’ his firin’ oats, yeah! Which will change exactly nothing because the Grand Jury is in place and the whole machinery will continue running until he is history once and for all.

Expect Metamucilini to brag about all the money he saved by screwing McCabe out of his pension. Just like all the diplomats Putin kicked out of Russia. He really believes he’s running a motel in Cankersore, Kentucky.

MSNBC should hire McCabe at a six-figure salary. They’ve hired plenty of other Republicans with a lot less integrity.

McCabe might have a lot of better things to do, but as a consultant he would definitely be worth the outlay. Especially in breaking down this hot mess and why Trump’s stupid moves are stupid or how they might work …
