I’m signing up for that kid’s campaign as soon as he enters any electoral race.
Too bad he’s not in Kansas — no minimum age to run for governor. He’d be a giant improvement over Brownback (but then swiss cheese would be an improvement over Brownback).
No minimum age so far. Unfortunately, they’re busily “crafting” legislation to raise the age to 21, with some baseline educational level, as well.
Young people like the one in the video (and my own son) are why I put all I can behind any effort I find out about to lower the voting age to 16. I think it’s time, because legislatures keep “going after” people who can’t vote.
Oops. To clarify, my own son is now plenty old enough to vote, and to run for office. Still, though.
I’ve been listening to the CBS national evening news, and the kids they have been interviewing have been amazing. Just thinking about the three teachers who were killed defending their students gives me goosebumps.
