Happy Hour News Briefs
Brooding, Heathcliff wannabe, and Republican U.S. Senate candidate for Missouri, Courtland Sykes answers the question about where he stands on womens rights; the short answer: on their necks.
Literally he says he wants his fiancé to have dinner on the table at 6PM, and it better be home made. And it goes downhill from there.
But my favorite passage has to be that he hoped his daughters do not grow up to be “career obsessed banshees who forgo home life and children and the happiness of family to become nail-biting manophobic hell-bent feminist she devils who shriek from the top of a thousand tall buildings they are [SIC] think they could have leaped in a single bound — had men not been ‘suppressing them.’ It’s just nuts.”
But, you know, he says he supports women’s rights.
Dude has issues.
Sykes is running against Sen. Claire McCaskill, who leads a charmed life, politically, doesn’t she? First ‘Legitimate Rape’ Akins and now this dude.
OK, Missouri, you got your work cut out for you.
