‘You’ve Got Mail’

Little Kremlin-on-the-Potomac

Axios morning email thingie tells us that Comrade Preznint Stupid’s transition team plans to ask Robert Mueller to return many tens of thousands of transition emails that they claim were unlawfully provided to him. (This seems like a good time to remind everyone that emails from work are the property of your employer, not of the sender nor of the receiver. Thanks, GOP!)

Comrade Stupid’s lawyer Kory Langhofer is  trying to question impropriety/corruption of Mueller’s team for doing their job. Noted Trump superfan Sean Hannity (and the rest of Pravda Fox News) is trying to amplify those questions and rile up the base. (To do what, exactly?)

Langhofer claims that the trove of e-mails violates the Fourth Amendment’s protections against unlawful search and seizure, as well as attorney-client privilege. (What? He thinks that he is Squiggy?)

So other than proving to the rest of us that Mueller has hit a nerve, all Langhofer seems to be asking is for legislation to prevent this from happening again in the future. That’s not exactly winning the argument that something illegal already occurred, but nice try!

All together now: “BUT HIS EMAILS!!1!”

UPDATE 1: Politico

“Mueller spokesman Peter Carr defended the special counsel’s work in a statement issued just past midnight on Sunday, several hours after this story first posted. ‘When we have obtained emails in the course of our ongoing criminal investigation, we have secured either the account owner’s consent or appropriate criminal process,’ he said. A GSA spokesperson could not be immediately reached for comment.” http://politi.co/2Bxly1Q

It’s as if Langhofer is throwing extra anchors aboard a rapidly sinking ship…

  2. “appropriate CRIMINAL procedure”

I just feel like that should be emphasized.

  3. Sirius Lunacy says:

W managed to delete tons of emails before any investigators could get a look at them. It seems that ‘The Best and Smartest President Ever in the Entire Universe’ is not nearly as smart as W. And W does not even make anybody’s list of top 100 smartest presidents.

I like to picture this scenario…
Trump: Eric, I need you to get rid of all these emails right away!
Eric: Okay dad I’m on it.
    Next day…
Trump: Eric, did you get rid of all those emails?
Eric: Sure thing dad, I sent them all over to Justice.

I feel it’s more likely the greatest president in the history of presidents wanted them preserved for posterity. so they could prove how great he was.

Hold it. It’s all coming together.

Now we know what Omarosa job was and why she didn’t just get fireded but kicked out on her ass.

Well now besides Fart of the Deal, he’ll have “paper” for his Fifth Avenue Treason Center special collections room.

My fondest hope is that, when all of this is said and done, all of these jack holes end up in the Federal slammer. Actually my fondest fondest hope is that they lose their heads – literally. But we don’t do “cruel and unusual punishment” any more. However, we should for these morons. Come to think of it, why can’t we ignore the Constitution just like they are right now?

Showboat lawyers. Obviously, Kory Langhofer is not one of those lawyers who cross all their t’s and dot all their i’s like, for example, Robert Mueller does. Sad.

Maybe if he actually paid his attorneys, he’d get useful advice!
