Conservative allies of Trump and Moore, seeking to head off the attack, were already racing to the barricades to defend Franken before his resignation. Fox News’s Laura Ingrahamcharacterized the outcry as a “political calculation” by the Democrats. “I’ll tell you this tonight, be wary of the lynch mob you join today,” Ingraham said. “Because tomorrow, it could be coming for your husband, your brother, your son, and yes, even your president.” Newt Gingrich, former House speaker who led the impeachment trial against Bill Clinton and unofficial Trump adviser, echoed the sentiment on Ingraham’s show. “Let’s not have due process. Let’s not ask anybody any questions. Let’s not have any chance to have a hearing. Let’s just lynch him, because when we get done lynching him, we’ll be so pure,” he said, also taking to Twitter to argue that Franken’s fate should lie with Minnesota voters. Conservative pundit Joe Walshdeclared that Franken should “apologize for anything inappropriate, stand strong, do your job, and leave it up to voters.“ When Franken announced his decision, Walsh was indignant, tweeting, “Democrats, you should feel like scum. Throwing @alfranken under the bus like you are. Just to score some political points.”
Whenever Noot says something that gets picked up by his Orcs and Minions, you can bank that it is going to be the standard response. And line is: “Leave it up to the voters.”
The wisdom of Alabama to vote an alleged pederast to the Senate. The wisdom of The New Confederacy to vote in admitted sex fiend to the White House. This is how they are going to counter-attack our higher moral ground: we’re being elitist telling them that they are wrong, looking down on the wisdom of the common person.
