“I want to thank [Putin] because we’re trying to cut down on payroll. And as far as I’m concerned, I’m very thankful that he let go of a large number of people because now we have a smaller payroll. There’s no real reason for them to go back.” — Comrade Preznint Stupid
We wonder if Trump understands that his boss Vlad cannot fire US State Department employees? But nonetheless, Trump just thanked Putin for expelling US diplomats. THIS IS SO NOT NORMAL!
“As you know, [Trans-people in the military] been a very complicated issue for the military. It’s been a very confusing issue for the military. And I think I’m doing the military a great favor.”
By throwing it into chaos?
Cherchez-La Femme: Congressional investigators want to question Trump’s longtime secretary, Rhona Graff, in Russia probe. Seriously, it just dawned on them now?
Sweet Jeebus, the Orange Menace is quoting Mooselini now?!
Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely. Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path!

Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) morning email thingie tells us that we’re fucked in the dark, that the double-maroons will shut down the government by stupidity:
Happy Friday! FIRST IN PLAYBOOK — SOMETHING PRESIDENT TRUMP WILL LIKE. The conservative House Freedom Caucus will file a petition today to try to force Speaker Paul Ryan to bring up a so-called “clean Obamacare repeal” bill. The legislation passed the House and Senate in the past — it repeals Obamacare after a two-year transition period. (It failed the Senate this year.) If the discharge petition — which will get filed during today’s pro-forma session — gets 218 signatures, it will force a floor vote. The Freedom Caucus and conservative outside groups will try to ramp up lots of pressure to force people to sign on. Expect Trump — itchy for victory, and frustrated with Republican leaders on health care — to weigh in. He’s close with some members of the Freedom Caucus.
The LATimes comments (on the front page!):
Despite Trump’s blustery warning of “fire and fury,” which he amplified further in comments to reporters on Thursday, warships are not known to be moving toward the Korean peninsula, a tactic deliberately publicized during previous tense times to signal U.S. resolve. The U.S. has not reinforced troop levels in South Korea, as President Clinton was about to do in 1994 when the two countries did come to the brink of war. U.S. dependents have not been ordered out, nor have U.S. nuclear weapons been sent back in to South Korea.
…On Thursday, even as Trump said his previous statements were perhaps “not tough enough,” Defense Secretary James N. Mattis emphasized diplomacy.
Grand Theft: Republicans are OK with postponing (canceling?) the 2020 election. Why not, they’ve stolen it before…
The first daughter’s brand will open a store in Trump Tower on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue, according to signage in the building. The location is slated to debut later this year, giving the tourists who throng to the site a chance to buy Ivanka Trump merchandise.
The Trump International Hotel made $1.97 million in the first four months of 2017, the Washington Post reports, despite company projections that it would lose $2.1 million during that time period. That’s a 192 percent improvement over what the Trump family predicted when the hotel opened last fall.
…so does anyone believe that the Trump Crime Family is not cashing in?
Now our pal Spicy wants to do SNL.
CNN severed ties with [Trump Surrogate] Jeffrey Lord on Thursday, hours after he ignited controversy by tweeting the words “Sieg Heil!” at a prominent liberal activist.
So that’s what it takes to get a drooling fucknuckle off the air on CNN. Good to know. Bad as it is (and Lord went full First Amendment Martyr), it is one less shouty head on cable that is normalizing the Fourth Reich.
