If Elliot Abrams Is The Voice Of Moral Authority…

…then things have truly gone off the rails.

RExxon is considering changes that would erase the words promoting a “just, and democratic world” from the U.S. State Deparment’s mission statement, according to the Washington Post.

The current mission statement:

“The Department’s mission is to shape and sustain a peaceful, prosperous, just, and democratic world and foster conditions for stability and progress for the benefit of the American people and people everywhere. This mission is shared with the USAID, ensuring we have a common path forward in partnership as we invest in the shared security and prosperity that will ultimately better prepare us for the challenges of tomorrow.”

But what does this have to do with the King of Latin America, Elliot Abrams, you ask?

The WaPo reports:

Former senior State Department officials from both parties told me that eliminating “just” and “democratic” from the State Department’s list of desired outcomes is neither accidental nor inconsequential.

“The only significant difference is the deletion of justice and democracy,” said Elliott Abrams, who served as deputy national security adviser for global democracy strategy during the George W. Bush administration. “We used to want a just and democratic word, and now apparently we don’t.”

The mission statement is important because it sends a signal about American priorities and intentions to foreign governments and people around the world, said Abrams, who was considered by Tillerson for the job of deputy secretary of state but rejected by President Trump.

Sweet Baby Jeebus with a machete, when an immoral and  complete ghoul like Abrams—who literally helped dictators get away with killing thousands of people in El Salvador and Nicaragua during the Reagan Iran-Contras years—thinks you’ve turned a dangerous page, then you’ve gone to far.

  1. Immediately after they slapped sanctions on Venezuela for the ruler embracing a dictatorship mere months after showering Recep Erdogan with love for doing the same thing in Turkey and then letting Erdogan’s droogies slip in a little of the ol’ ultraviolence on the way out of the country…

Oh yeah…strap in folks, the ride’s only gonna get rougher from here….

Tillerson’s State Dept. has nothing more important to do than this? N. Korea, Middle East, Russia, NATO, Venezuela, drought and violence in Africa….? Problems solved?

Heh. tRump and his internationally savvy drones can’t even find the time to drop by on their neighbours up north and share some summertime BBQ’d beaver marinated in CC and maple syrup. Even the easily-excitable Ojared could join in some fun slip n’ slide with the Trudeaus. Nope. Come on!, we even made a custom Obama cookie, still the #1 cookie in Ottawa.

      Moeman –

I’m enjoying some delicious BC smoked, well, everything. The wind shifted and the smoke from the wild fires in Canada are all over Seattle.

I hope everyone up there is safe and sound (and well-seasoned!), and far away from the fires. I’m shocked we didn’t know about it until now.

Elliott Abrams, a man who never saw the inside of the jail cell his entire career deserved.

    Sad.
