Activism: Saving the ACA: Fight Back

There was a visible rally in opposition the R’s Tax Cut bill held in Washington D.C.

From MotherJones…

A Health Care Rally Is Underway Outside Congress. Follow the Protests Live.

It’s organized by groups like Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.

It’s about time.

The fight continues:

The battle to stop the R’s from giving the 1% another tax cut by taking health care away from the poorest, sickest and most vulnerable people in our country is not over.

McConnell only delayed the vote. They’re making changes to woo the batshit crazies and mollify the lesser radicals within the Republican senatorial caucus (finding out how many zeros they need on the checks). They will send the modified version of the bill back to the CBO for scoring over the holiday and attempt another vote next month.

They. Will. Not. Stop. We must be as relentless in our opposition as they are in their insidious attempts to undermine our social safety net.

Strategic action:

Phone Calls Work!

We need to keep the pressure on. We need to keep making the calls, and walking into the local offices of our Senators and Congressional Representatives.

I feel it’s important to begin pressuring our congressional representatives now because if McConnell can add enough zeros to the checks to get his BSC’s and lesser radicals to sell out the bill will pass the Senate, and go back to the house for approval.

House members are much easier to pressure because they’re tenure is so short and their constituencies are so small. By design they are closer to us and more vulnerable to our demands.

A call to action:

The stakes are high and no one can help us. We must help ourselves.

  • Keyword: Medicare for All
  • Keyword: Oppose the BCRA (Please, use the term BCRA so they know you know what you’re talking about.)
  • Keyword: See you at Town Hall
  • Call your Senators and Congressional Representatives, both D and R.
    • Support the D’s
      • We, you and I, your sister, brother, uncle, cousin, ex, SO, nieces and nephews are the backbone of the Democratic party. The politicians cannot stand without our constant support.
      • Do you job, be their “spine”
      • Insert the idea of Medicare for all into the conversation.
        • Let them know that improvements must be made to the ACA not compromises capitulations the the unreasonable demands of the R’s.
    • Demand the R’s vote against Trumpcare
      • You’re not wasting your time calling the R’s. You’re “putting on the heat.”
      • Keep pushing
      • Push harder.
  • Please make three calls each day this week.
    • Leave VM’s at 4:00 AM or at 11:30 PM
    • Make a call during your morning and evening commute.

There are lives in the balance. Speak out now before it’s too late.

Please, open up your heart. Make the three calls today.

It ain’t over ’til the fat lady sings. From C&L…

Ted Cruz Puts Pre-Existing Conditions Back On The Table

I’ve said it befor ena I’ll say it again -If the R’s say the sky is blue and grass is green the first thing we need to do is figure out what they’re hiding, then go outside and check.
