Workforce Development Week

Workforce Development Week!

Because Infrastructure Week was such a stunning success, the 4th Reich is hoping lightening will strike twice. (We do, too!) CNN tells us:

“The first daughter and presidential adviser will join her father at a series of events from Tuesday to Thursday to highlight administration initiatives on vocational training and apprenticeships as well as legislative priorities like college affordability.”

Apprenticeships? Coming from the guy who doesn’t pay his bills and his daughter who contracts slave labor to make knock-off clothes the design of which she steals from real designers.

Grifters Gotta Grift: Apprenticeships are just another word for getting  something for free. His workforce Week is gonna be a blast.

We used to have real apprenticeship programs in this land. They were run by labor unions that did the training and ensured the quality of the workforce. These weren’t the unpaid or underpaid offerings of today where once you are “trained” you’re let go because you’re too expensive.

    • Strictly speaking, in the olden days, apprenticeships were not unpaid, either.

The craftsman you were apprenticing for was required to house, clothe and feed you as well as teach you the trade, and upon completion of your apprenticeship, they were required to provide you with the tools you needed to continue in the trade on your own.

Your talking actual olden days. The way I heard it, your tool box was a major part of your resume, as you would have built it yourself.
