Your Sunday Morning Bottomless Flute of Stupid is Served

Exciting News From the Trump Administration!

Man, this is just sad that the Little Kremlin on the Potomac even says this stuff:

“I don’t see any big issue here relative to Jared.” — Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly

And then…

“We have backchannel communications with a number of countries. What that allows you to do is communicate in a discreet manner so I’m not concerned.” –National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster

I’m old enough to remember when the Republicans called Dims commies, and they meant it as a slur.

And for the reaction to these statements:

“I was disappointed to see the general say that. I have a lot of respect for him. Sadly I think this is an administration that takes in people with good credibility and chews them out and spits out their credibility at the same time. Anyone within the Trump orbit is at risk of being used.” –Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee

If I were a member of the entertainment industry, I would be demanding hearings at this point. In honor of those who lost their careers during the McCarthy era.

  2. i think serious people like kelly and mcmaster are saying things like that to keep their jobs, and they accepted and are keeping their jobs in the trump administration because they love their country and believe that by being there they can minimize the harm trump does

accepting the disrepute that serving in the trump administration brings is a bit like the sufi “path of blame” – here’s an example from yannis toussulis:

In one example, it is said that Bayazid Bistami one day was entering a city when its people, who had heard of his renown, ran out to meet him. He noticed that their ministrations were
distracting him from his thoughts of God. Arriving at a bazaar, Bistami took
out a loaf of bread and began to eat. All of these people fled, for it was the
month of Ramadan. Bistami turned to a disciple traveling with him and said,
“You see! As soon as I enact a single article of the law they all reject me!”

Bistami’s point was that it is incumbent upon Muslims to fast during Ramadan, but one of the exceptions is when one is traveling; thus, Bistami was actually
following the Shari’a, and the people surrounding him were both ignorant of
sacred law and more concerned about following their own conventions. Bistami
knew the finer points of the law, but his adherence to the internal meaning of
the Shari’a marked him as a malamati.

Kelly and McMaster came into the administration with good reputations. Better reputations than the carnival of clowns Trump

Accidental posting. Considering the carnival of clowns Trump injected into the government, we need the few good people involved to help the country survive the ongoing catastrophe.

If it weren’t for “backchannels” HTF would the Repoobicks be so adept at bringing down America? Forty years now I reckon.
