The Death of the Media, Cont.

Noted sharp-dressed man George Will is now signed to MSNBC in another puzzling case of Forgotten Fox Fugitives migrating to your liberal media.

And this gives me a chance to repost one of my favorite 2012 Goat Rodeo moments when Admiral Weener really gets his knickers in a twist:

Well, at least will has been consistent on Trump all these years. There’s that.

Clearly MSNBC’s Andy Lack thinks that his audience is skewing too young and he wants to attract the Geritol, boner-pill set.

I wonder if Fox News is really in trouble and MSNBC is just swooping in to pick up all the choice pieces. It’s not a bad move, if they can attract some of Fox’s audience.

‘Spoon, it’s really hard to know what is going on at MSNBC. Maddow’s ratings are through the roof (since the election) as well as the rest of the evening’s more liberal block. One would think that they would want to expand that success, but no.

Andy Lack (head of NBC News) says that he wants to adjust to focus to hard news, but instead of hiring reporters or upping the hard news team presence, he hires these Fox pundit reject. Since taking over, each place where he’s touched the line-up he inherited, he has turned the ratings to shit*.

As I understand it this is the line-up and the strange effect:

      1. Chuck Todd’s MTP Daily is a ratings engine, followed by…
      2. Greta Von Cistern (or whatever her name is) show, whose rating drops through the basement from MTP as a lead-in; it’s not that they are staying the same, MSNBC is losing share followed by…
      3. a modest ratings increase for Tweetie’s Hardball followed by…
      4. a double-digit increase for Chris Hayes followed by…
      5. a ratings explosion for Maddow followed by
      6. a double-digit, year over year increase for Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell

And now they are talking about giving Hugh Hewett a show.

It’s bizarre that they don’t turn the ship around especially since they have solid evidence with Greta it is not working.

It makes no sense to me at all.

*One of the Scissorheads works at NBC in the corporate offices, and this Scissorhead says, “I cannot tell you how much is of this article is so false or misleading.” However, that also means some of it is true. YMMV.
