Here’s a Cheese Sandwich and a Roadmap, McFarland (UPDATED)

H.R. McMaster is cleaning house, trying to remove the stench of Comrade General Flynn.

K. T. McFarland has been asked to step down as deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump after less than three months and is expected to be nominated as ambassador to Singapore, according to a person familiar with White House personnel moves.

You may recall that McMaster previously tried to remove other friends of Flynn : Ezra Cohen-Warnick and Michael Ellis, both of whom appeared in the ersatz Game of Thrones’ White House Edition as the guys who were leaking to Intelligence Committee Chariman (since recused) Devin Nunes.

Singapore is an island/City/State ruled over by a benevolent* dictator, so KT “Nobel Prize for Putin” McFarland who previously worked for Fox News should feel at home there, except for the Buddhists and Muslims and the lack of white women wearing short skirts to join her on curvy couches.

Having been to Singapore lots of times (since I worked in neighboring Indonesia for many years) and having a reporter brother who lives there, I would dispute the “dictator” characterization. True, it is, for all intents and purposes, a one-party state but it does hold regular elections and has a parliamentary form of government. Lee Kuan Yew was a technocratic authoritarian, for sure, but the majority Chinese population seem to like that for the most part and, in any event, the place has become more relaxed in recent years. McFarland may be bright and China-knowledgeable but she’s a far right reactionary in a post that used to seeing much more professional ambassadors.

Countries that have diplomatic relations with the US will have to get used to non-professional ambassadors.

      Jim –
Having Benevolent Dictator still requires a dictator. It’s an immaculately clean and well-run republic, but the transgressions still result with a caning. I have not been in a long time (decades), so I cannot say with any authority on how it is now, but I do remember worrying that if I spilled or dropped anything (without knowing) that I would be detained. The place was cleaner than Disneyland, and they intended it to stay that way.

Anyway, your brother sounds like he has the goods, so I defer to your expertise.
