Breaking: Methinks Nunes Doth Protest Too Much

Wait? What?

The Office of Congressional Ethics is going to investigate Rep. Nunes, and so he is temporarily stepping down as the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. With these weasel words echoing previous scandals, well, we think Nunes must know that the goose is indeed cooked:

“The charges are entirely false and politically motivated, and are being leveled just as the American people are beginning to the learn the truth about the improper unmasking of the identities of U.S. citizens and other abuses of power,” Nunes said in a statement.

“I will continue to fulfill all my other responsibilities as Committee Chairman, and I am requesting to speak to the Ethics Committee at the earliest possible opportunity in order to expedite the dismissal of these false claims.”

  1. JTO says:

“But, but. . . ” Nunes’ wife and children didn’t say, “The reason we sent him to Congress was for him to spend LESS time with us.”

  2. roket says:

“[Nunes] noted that multiple “leftwing activist groups” had filed complaints against him to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE).”

    However,

“In the case of Nunes, the Ethics Committee began an investigation without waiting for OCE to take up the matter.”

    ROFLMAO Damn you unintended consequences.
