Senate GOP goes ‘nuclear’ on Supreme Court filibuster

Senate Republicans invoked the “nuclear option” to gut the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees Thursday, a historic move that paves the way for Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation and ensures that future high court nominees can advance in the Senate without clearing a 60-vote threshold.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell moved to change the Senate rules after Democrats blocked Gorsuch’s nomination minutes before, 55-45. All 52 Republicans then supported the vote to go nuclear, and Gorsuch subsequently advanced to a final confirmation vote with a simple majority.

And Gorsuch will be just as legitimate as the Russian Usurper who appointed him. SCOTUS members can be impeached, and I think a two-fer (him and the Usurper) would be quite a show.

On the bright side, amply be-chinned Mitch McConnell will go down in history as the man who killed the Senate, so that’s good.

Thanks again, Puritopians. Glad that you get to be snowflakes while the rest of us suffer from your folly.

I’ve already sent an e-mail to my Congressman (Adam Schiff) asking him to file impeachment charges. Won’t get very far, but at least let this guy serve right from the beginning under this cloud.

Because, as we all know, nominating someone else would have kill Kill KILLED them. Also too, now would be a good time to repeal Obamacare, again.

Gorsuch thought a truck driver should freeze to death when his trailer’s brakes were frozen. That’s the kind of rational, brilliant jurisprudence that’s been missing since Scalia’s overworked, underused heart checked out.
