Your Sunday Morning Bottomless Flute of Stupid is Served, Texas Style

“It’s obvious to me that if we continue this, no member of Congress will want to meet with people.”

Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), the chair of the House Rules Committee, doesn’t do politics very well.

Authoritarians really don’t like it when people push back and don’t obey what their betters order them to do in the name of “freedom”.

It’s all fun and games until all the rubes wearing tri-corner hats, carrying Gadsden flags, protest signs with misspelled words and AR-15’s go home, ain’t it?

The idea of politics is discussion. Since there is no way we the people are allowed to discuss with the body politic directly, we must make ourselves heard at any and all public meetings, Agreed.
However, disruptive discussions don’t have a chance to get any point across.
Perhaps if the crowd had ‘one’ message at a time it could be more loudly articulated. From the outside, it sounded like a cat fight in there.

The video pretty much sums it up. Perhaps the best part was when he first realized that nobody was buying the bullshit. He was obviously surprised, shocked even, that people would question His Word From On High. His resentment was obvious – and delicious to see.

He didn’t answer the first four questions, while the 1000 or so people in attendance yelled at him to answer the questions. Launched into a speech trying to tell us the new AMERICAN Healthcare Act is better than the AFFORDABLE Healthcare Act. He used data to back up his claims! Data from 2009.

Couple rounds of condescending “I understand why you’re so frustrated, because you can’t listen.”

He was asked a Yes or No question, would he support releasing Trump’s tax info. Refused to answer. Crowd chants “YES OR NO YES OR NO YES OR NO…” Wouldn’t give a straight up answer.

I do believe he realized he’s going to get unelected next year. Fucking DNC didn’t even put up a candidate – HRC won his district.

I loved the resounding chorus of people chanting “Vote him out. Vote him out. Vote him out.”

It was as clear a message as possible.

Congress has record low approval ratings – again.
Yet over 90% of them are re-elected.

My GOP parents told me once, Mr. Burns, that everyone hates the other members of congress, but love their own rep. Or at least that was what the operating assumption was in the Republican Party back when they were alive, and it is why Republicans always run against Congress, more than against their opponent.

        Maybe it’s changing?
