Semantics Today

Oh, he didn’t…

Shorter Buddy Carter: “We want to take away your healthcare in a stable way.”

Longer version:

STEVE INSKEEP: First, will the 20 million or so people who’ve have gained insurance over the last few years under Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act, be able to keep their insurance?

REP. BUDDY CARTER: What we have said from the get-go is that we are not going to pull the rug out from underneath people. We want to have a stable transition period.

“After you lose your home paying for your operation, you’ll get a nice appliance box down by the river, before you end up sleeping on a grate in the sidewalk,” Carter didn’t say.

  1. A stable way. Their lips won’t even *quiver* when people start losing coverage. They aren’t going to pull the rug out from under folks so much as roll the rug back to reveal a cliff.

    • I’d say it was like the scene at the end of the “Great Escape” where they let the recaptured POW’s out to ‘stretch their legs’ then the flap on the truck flips open and they’re all machine-gunned.

I could say that but it would be wrong. The GOP wouldn’t do anything as merciful as just executing them…they want them to die slowly, which their wealth gets stripmined away from them.

As they roll back regulations protecting our air, water and food of course they must roll back health care coverage. All those diseases, sicknesses and cancers we will all be getting would just cost the insurance companies way too much money.

Nothing to see here. The transfer of wealth WILL BE a stable transition period.
