The Afternoon Quote

Kiss Jeebus on the lips.

Dr. Jeebus is here to see you.

“Just like Jesus said, ‘The poor will always be with us.’ There is a group of people that just don’t want health care and aren’t going to take care of themselves.”

— Rep. Roger Marshall (R-KS). Oh yeah: He was a doctor before he became a member of Congress.

I musta missed the part in the Bible where Jeebus demanded a co-pay before he cured the lepers.

  2. See, the thing with that verse, over-abused by kkkhristian cons, is that Jesus is DIRECTLY referring to Deuteronomy 15:11– “For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.” http://biblia.com/bible/esv/Deut.%2015.11

You cannot have the one without the other. Jesus wasn’t saying fuck the poor, he was reminding them that God still commands them to take care of the least among us. See also Matthew 25:40.

    Hippocratic oath: (partial)

“I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug.”

    Right.
