Activism: Indivisible and A Path To Power

We’ve all heard of Indivisible. A great movement, doing good work.

They are the people to work with to organize issues activism. They are also doing a great job of making the exiting lawmakers uncomfortable.

Issues activism is not a path to power

That’s not the path to power. Issues activism is reactionary and is intended to motivate the existing lawmakers to do things more to our liking as long as we can keep the pressure on them. As you can see, it takes a lot of pressure to make it work.

The Republicans are laughing at us. From C&L…

Republicans Do Their Best To Downplay And Discredit Nationwide Protests

“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
Mahatma Gandhi

Good, but not good enough.

Unfortunately the indivisible movement, just like Occupy is destined to fail unless they create and follow a path to taking power in the United States. (Indivisible was founded by establishment pols that are out of power. Think about that.)

Two things the Indivisible people aren’t doing is to take action at the state level and take control of our government at all levels.

We cannot control our government and our lives if we maintain a defensive stance. That leaves the establishment in control. We need to make the establishment react to us by going on the offensive and taking power in our country.

Step one on a path to power

We need to take control of our government away from the people who have led us into this disaster – the DLC moderate Republicans that have controlled the DNC for the past thirty years.

To do that we each need to become a part of the DNC and make the change we want to see happen by the hard work, sacrifice and persistence that our predecessors used int he Revolutionary War, the Labor movement, and the Civil War.

We need to elevate liberals and leftists of good character like Warren, Sanders and Franken to positions of power in every city, county and state as well as at the federal level.

Step two on a path to power

We need to not just voice our opinions, not just protest the offenses of the Trump Admin and the R’s in the US Congress and US Senate.

I suggest we all start watching our state legislatures and pressure our state legislators with every bit as much dedication and ferocity as we are the Feds.

If we don’t do these two things in addition to protest and pressuring our existing leader we might as well get used to the idea of being peasants, peons and serfs.

We all need to get up off our asses, get our hands dirty by participating in our own governance right now. The 2018 mid-term election is in less than two years away.
