[Ed. Note – We’re keeping this on top to remind us all to keep making those phone calls! I’d rather go down fighting than whimpering. Fresh(er) snark below. –TG]
As Scissorhead C. Montgomery Burns pointed out President Obama is set to make a speech this afternoon at 2:15 EST.
What he will talk about has not been announced at time of writing.
My hope and my guess is that Obama will speak on the Russian hacking of our elections. There is some evidence that leads me to believe the Obama admin recognizes the importance of this matter to the American citizenry.
From The Hill [Emphasis mine]
War of words escalates between White House, Trump camp
White House press secretary Josh Earnest hit back at senior Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway after she accused him of making inappropriate comments in stating that Trump encouraged Russian hacking of his political opponents.
“It is just a fact that the Republican nominee for president was encouraging Russia to hack his opponent because he believed it would help his campaign,” Earnest told reporters Thursday.
I wonder if the President will admit to his failed leadership in this matter, if he will take the lead and propose a “counterstrike”, offer a course of resolution for our subverted democracy, or if he will attempt to convince the American people that ignorance is strength.
He’s a remarkable orator, he could convince enough of the people enough of the time.
It wouldn’t be the first time.
Silence is Compliance
It’s better to get pissed off than pissed on.
Regardless of what the President Tom Tomorrow labeled “Middleman” says we need to keep the pressure on our representatives in congress.
Regardless of what President Obama says we need to ensure that our elected representative understand the Russian subversion of our government is a big deal and they must do something.
A Call to Action:
Each of us must act individually so that our voices are heard as a group. No one is going to hear anything you say if all you do is bitch about it on a blog.
Please call your Senators, and Congressional Representatives today.
Tell them to call for a congressional investigation and a special committee to investigate the Russian hacking of our election and the coverup by Mitch McConnell, now before the next congress is seated and before the PeOTUS is inaugurated into office.
Please be calm, professional and polite. You’ll be talking to a very young, likely nervous intern.
Stay on message, don’t take the opportunity to air a laundry list of grievances.
Please don’t waste your time calling a Senator or Representative that is not your own. They use algorithms that will reject your call.
Here’s a link to the list of 2016 US Senators, and this is to a list of Congressional Representatives.
If you’re not sure who your Congressional Representative is you can use this link to find out.
I’ve found it is faster to call one of their local offices than the DC number. The name in the list is a link to their official website, you can find their local office numbers there.
Message discipline is very important, here’s a sample script. Please elaborate and use your own words but don’t stray from the original intent.
Hello.
I’m a constituent of the XXXX
I want you to call for congressional hearings and special committee to investigate the Russian’s hacking of our election.

Thank you.
We need you to speak out.
Please, make the calls today.
