The Death of the Media

Building a Better Vocabulary

Hey guys, remember when President-elect Hair Führer tweeted…

…and then he tweeted this:

And now some headlines in reaction to these tweets: got quite a workout as the MSM tried to find a way to avoid saying that noted lying liar Donald Trump lied AGAIN.

What is so hard about saying plainly and clearly that Trump is a liar and that he lied again? He lies reflexively, needlessly. Trump does not lie strategically (to deliberately change the topic, for instance), he lies over little things and big things.

And the Media lets him get away with it. The POTUS lying was just normalized.

As PeOTUS, he has an outsized microphone; his word can move markets and set agendas all around the world. He just undermined US democracy, he is destroying the USA brand. What little moral authority we had left in the world after all of Chimpy’s Great Adventure and the Kenyan’s drone strikes is gone in the tweet of a moment.

    So ‘illegals’ voted for him?

Please Hillary, PLEASE Puuulleeezzz push for MORE recounts.

  2. roket says:

Careful there President Elect Donald Trump (patooy). You’re proving yourself to be a divider and an indecisive wuss. There won’t be any good monikers left if you keep this up.

  3. A.J. says:

“Serious voter fraud in Virginia, New Hampshire and California – so why isn’t the media reporting on this?”

Well I don’t know, you anus-mouthed crotch-fondler. Maybe you should do what Stein did and demand a recount in those states? You have the money. And if you are right – a more bigly victory!!!

    Trump does not lie strategically

Trump doesn’t do anything strategically. Not only does he not do strategy, he doesn’t even know what strategy is.

But even more importantly, while Trump does lie frequently, blatantly, obviously, but this is a different type of lying, if it’s even lying at all. With this incident, as with others, there’s no semantic content to his words. He isn’t deliberately stating mistruth, not even for tactical purposes. What he’s doing is reacting in typical Trumplethinskin mode, that being narcissistic personality disorder. He says whatever comes into his head, regardless of reality. That is, he doesn’t even think about whether what he says is true or false, it just doesn’t matter to him – there’s no semantic content in the words. Being slightly familiar with NPD, I’ll venture to say that after he’s said it it becomes true in his pointy little fevered head.

David Roberts nailed back in September, a week after E$ra Klein twatted “factchecking Donald Trump is a category error. It’s like polishing a duck.”

Nice link! The author inserted the connotation that Trump is oily and shallow, which seems, to me, like an accurate dig:
“Rather, his opinions dissolve and coalesce fluidly, as he’s talking, like oil on shallow water.”

  5. Sirius Lunacy says:

Trump before the election: Remember folks the election is rigged.
Trump after election: The election process is over and we should all accept the results.
Trump now: The election was rigged.
Trump tomorrow: SNL are a bunch of poopie heads.

  6. MDavis says:

“Allegations” seems to be a popular synonym.
Washington Post: “…wild allegations with little basis in fact…”
    NYT: “…baseless claim…”
LATimes: “Donald Trump alleges … There’s no evidence to back it up.”
And, from another WaPo article: “…his fomenting of these baseless theories…”

    • osirisopto says:

The only thing about trump that we have hard evidence to back it up is his desire to get down his daughters pants.

He’s rich – no proof just the assertions of a liar.
He’s got the best words – only if they top out a two syllables
He’s got the best memory – No one has ever asked him which three departments now have they?
“There’s no problem down there. Believe me. There’s no problem. BElieve me. BELIEVE ME.” – The problem isn’t “down there”

      • Reamus says:

And no proof that he has eyes for his daughter. It’s fun to make fun of the fool but let’s not sink into the same morass he and his friends live in.

  7. Nora Daly says:

Voter fraud in California? Is he daft?
