“Some say,” Some Said

robot unicornEdward Klein, the semi-pro Hillary Hater has taken a page from Tiger Beat on the Potomac (thanks Charlie!) and has penned an unsourced story about how Smilin’ Joe Biden is ready to enter the 2016 Goat Rodeo, you know, following orders from The Kenyan Usurper:

“The talk in Democratic Party circles is that Barack Obama has told Joe Biden that he is prepared to endorse him for president if, in return, Biden promises to let Obama have a final say in the choice of his vice presidential running mate… In addition, there is speculation among top Democratic sources that Obama has another quid pro quo for his endorsement: he wants Biden to choose an African American as his vice presidential running mate.”

It’s really a ham-fisted (sorry Mr. Cameron) attempt at slash-fic on Hillary (and at Obama), but it is so lame it makes you wonder why he even tried. Here’s another small taste that made me chortle:

“Obama has already given Biden carte blanche to use Air Force Two, the official vice presidential plane, to crisscross the country and launch an unofficial campaign.”

Killer material dude.

As we continue to say on this blog, No Means No. Until or unless a candidate declares, then s/he is not running. It was true with Sen. Warren, and it is true with VP Biden.

“In this scenario, which Obama has not yet fully explained to Biden, Biden would promise to serve only one term…”

Also too, in this scenario yes is no and no is yes and the talk in republican party circles is that everything is hunky dory. Yay. Happy times. Woot-woot.

I don’t think the ham was on Cameron’s fist.

Her appearances on Ellen and The Tonight Show showed her at her best — funny, confident while being self-deprecating, friendly. Then her more substantive appearances on CNN with Wolf Blitzer and on Face the Nation showed her in complete command of a range of issues, relaxed, and intelligent — a sharp contrast to the bitter, angry, one-note rhetoric of her competitors.

That’s raising her numbers, along with the growing sense among Democrats that Hillary isn’t getting a fair shake. The tweet above from Eric Boehlert exemplifies this anger. Historically, the Clintons have gotten more popular when attacked and that’s playing out again.

The media’s relentless bias against Hillary only makes her more relatable to marginalized groups like Latinos, working class whites, women, blacks, and gays. Those groups also know what it’s like to be lied about, unfairly criticized, stereotyped, mischaracterized. They are also called uppity and held to double standards when they reach for the power and privilege enjoyed by the good ole boys. Blacks can relate to a strong, resilient woman who refuses to be knocked down — we see it often in our own families.

Her election will be truly transformative and revolutionary — that’s why the sexist good ole boy establishment is in the mainstream media is desperate to smear her with email nonsense. It’s starting to backfire, as astute political observers predicted. Hillary has a now growing and rebounding double-digit lead nationally and huge 35+ points leads in the big, ethnically diverse Southern and Western states like Florida, California, South Carolina, and Georgia that will decide the primary. Hillary is more liked than the press and Rethuglicans combined. She’ll run better with whites, women, and Latinos than Obama and will not lose a single state he won.
