Boy exorcist and noted volcano scholar Bobby Jindal (The Stupid Party — LA) has released his first campaign ad for The 2016 Goat Rodeo, even though he has not announced yet:
And just to make it perfectly clear to Y’all Qaeda, Jindal has also issued an Executive Order To ‘Accomplish The Intent’ Of Failed Anti-Gay Bill.
“For months Republican Governor Bobby Jindal has been pushing an anti-gay “religious liberty” bill called the Louisiana Marriage And Conscience Act. earlier this afternoon it was defeated by a whopping 10-2 vote by a House committee.
Yay! That’s deader than Mike Pence’s chances of ever having a key to the Oval Office, amiright?
“Almost immediately, Gov. Jindal issued a statement in response.
““We are disappointed by the committee’s action to return the Louisiana Marriage and Conscience Act to the calendar,” Gov. Jindal told The Advocate, a local Louisiana newspaper. “We will be issuing an Executive Order shortly that will accomplish the intent of HB 707 to prevent the state from discriminating against persons or entities with deeply held religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman.”
Because the poor, hapless Xristian is once again the martyr?
“”This Executive Order will prohibit the state from denying or revoking a tax exemption, tax deduction, contract, cooperative agreement, loan, professional license, certification, accreditation, or employment on the basis the person acts in accordance with a religious belief that marriage is between one man and one woman.””
So essentially it’s open season on the ‘mos in Louisiana. Government agencies will not be able to investigate, let alone pursue any discrimination cases or press for damages. Of course, if the SCOTUS does strike down bans against Marriage Equality, especially as marriage is part of the good faith and reciprocity clause (legally married in one state is legally married in all), this executive order will most likely be unenforceable, but Bobby will have made his point with Y’all Qaeda by proverbially dying on that hill.
This is what theocracy looks like, folks. Think about this.
