The Morning Movie

Flickr does these great little movies every week (who knew?), and this week the subject is Sam Droege is the head of the U.S. Geological Survey’s Bee Inventory and Monitoring Laboratory in Maryland. For the past seven years he’s been photographing bees and other insects. The purpose is to create online reference catalogs to help researchers identify the thousands of bee species across North America.

Anyway, give it a click. The macro photography of the bees is amazing. Rolling over the pictures gives you some information about the bees, you know, gender, species, location and so on.
