Bachmann’s last laugh?

bachmann-straight-jacket

She who laughs last while wearing a tinfoil hat, laughs best:

The Energy and Water spending bill for 2014 that’s winding its way through the House was being treated as a political football before Wednesday. But this morning, as The Hill reports, the House added insult to injury by passing a GOP amendment to the bill that blocks enforcement of new light bulb standards.

Long-time readers will remember ol’ One-L introducing the the “Light Bulb Freedom of Choice Act,” because, you know, FREEEEEEDOM vs. tyranny of energy efficiency.

To this day, this remains my favorite bit of nonsense from Bachmann-the-Nut. I really am going to miss her when she’s gone.

  1. I always loved the wingnut day where they all turned on all of their lights and appliances, giggling because they imagined all us liberals gnashing our teeth in fury at this. Apparently they have never made the connection between those NUMBERS in their energy bill and the amount of energy they use. Or somehow they thought part of their energy bill was paid by liberals or something. I dunno, I could never figure it out, other than the typical “THIS ought to piss off a hippy!” pseudo-logic.

It’s all part of the magical thinking that they specialize in. “If only we had more conservative candidates, we would win.” I actually kinda like that they do this, it makes me think that they will go extinct in our lifetime, you know, while looking for purity.

Ah, yes, “Human Enterprise Day”, if I recall correctly. I think they should all run their cars in their garages, that would really piss those liberals off.

I think Adam Yoshida said he was actually going to do that one time…. say, has anybody heard from old Adam lately?

  5. Also, for the record: Almost every light source in our house is fluorescent, LED, or low-voltage. By the logic of Wingnut Enterprise Day, Ol’ Crazy-Eyes should be pissed at ME!

One-L Bachmann has just proved that
    she is quite the dim-bulb.
There’s probably a barn back in her
home state with equally dim bulbs
and she’d fit in quite easily!
