So… how’s that filibuster reform working for ya, Harry?

Modern Igloo enthusiast Senator James Inhofe threatened to filibuster former Sen. Chuck Hagel’s nomination for Defense secretary, if necessary to prevent his confirmation, which would be the first time in US history for a senator to filibuster a cabinent position.

“I want a 60-vote margin and you don’t have to filibuster to get that. I would threaten to cause a 60-vote margin. If it took a filibuster, I’d do it that way.”

  1. Randall says:

MAKE the Republicans FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THEIR FILIBUSTER.
DON’T CAVE IN as soon as one THREATENS to filibuster.
Make them stand there and DO IT.
Then, while they’re standing there reading the telephone book on C-SPAN
YOU go on the network news stations and draw attention to their shenanigans.

    Do it EVERYtime.

Let them know that their threats of filibuster won’t work anymore: that they’ll HAVE TO ACTUALLY DO IT.
    Every.
    Time.
