Hey guys, remember when the mouth-breathing trolls on the Right called everyone on the Left the Blame America First crowd, because we were kinda upset over Chimpy invading innocent countries and torturing people willy-nilly? Me Neither!
But anyway, somehow or another Grandpa Walnuts and his reach-around buddy Senatorette Miss Lindsey Graham have come to the conclusion that the Libyan rebels succeeded in their quest for freedom, um, inspite of the US dropping (not enough) bombs? Yes, we’ll go with that:
The end of the Qadaffi regime in Libya is a victory for the Libyan people and for the broader cause of freedom in the Middle East and throughout the world. This achievement was made possible first and foremost by the struggle and sacrifice of countless Libyans, whose courage and perseverance we applaud. We also commend our British, French, and other allies, as well as our Arab partners, especially Qatar and the UAE, for their leadership in this conflict. Americans can be proud of the role our country has played in helping to defeat Qaddafi, but we regret that this success was so long in coming due to the failure of the United States to employ the full weight of our airpower.
So I guess that makes McCain and Graham the Thank America Last crowd.
McWalnuts is a ‘War Hero’! and I do declare Miss Lindsay’s slip is showing.

Not enough brown people were killed, I suppose.
(Although I’m going to add, “Yet”, because I am the Minister Of Optimism, and we do have a history with these things.)

Gramps is pissed because the Navy didn’t invite him along to crash another plane.

Full weight? Does he mean what’s left after the other wars and this little item? Is there some kind of limitless air force in his mind? Minus the four he personally crashed, of course.

I’m curious about the term “Thank America Last” crowd. I had never read/heard it before and today you used it and Steve Benen used it. Is it a common term that I just hadn’t picked up on anywhere?

Stephanie –
I’ve used it for zillions of years, usually in exactly this context. I think my parents actually used it, too,
It is always amazing to me how the right does this so consistently (if anything goes well during a Dim administration they either take credit for it–Chimpy killed Osama–or say it could/would/should have been better if the GOP had had their way with it. It’s a “we did it, no thanks to you!” message.
