Everyone knows that this race is really all about Obama… because on the eve of the anniversary of his innauguration, we still have not seen his birth certificate!

Maybe it’s for the best. If they can’t pass that POS Seante bill it may be for the better.

  10. What Capt. Guano said. If the white house sees the message (disaffected base, pissed independents) and MA dems have a year to find a better candidate, then this isn’t so bad. Brown can play senator for two years. If, however, Rahm wins out….2010 is going to be awfully ugly.

      Pissed –

If the White House reads anything at all into the tea leaves, it will be to move sharply harder to THE RIGHT. I think an argument can be made that the DLC sees the base as the enemy.

  12. OK, it’s done. Massholes have lived down to expectations.

The only bright spot is that Western Massachusetts voted for Coakley by a margin of nearly 4-to-1, adding impetus to the long-standing proposal that we secede and join Bernie Sanders’ Vermont.

    Im, SO all over that.

I gave up and we had dinner. It was very good and I figured you all needed the recipe:

    Greek Shrimp

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    juice of one lemon
    1 small onion, chopped
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    2 T olive oil
1 15 oz can diced or crushed tomatoes
    1/2 c white wine
    2 T fresh oregano, chopped
2 T fresh Italian parsley, chopped (alternatively, use 1 T dried oregano and 1 T dried basil leaves)
    1/2 c brandy
    4 oz feta cheese, crumbled
    2 T butter

Heat the oven to 375 degrees.

Take the shrimp and squeeze the lemon juice over them and set aside while you make the sauce. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil and then saute the onion and garlic for a few minutes until they get soft. Add the can of tomatoes and the white wine and stir together. Cook on low heat for about 10 to 15 minutes then add the herbs. (if using the dried herbs, add them with the tomatoes).

In a skillet or pan that can go into the oven, heat 2 T of butter and then saute the shrimp (with the lemon juice) for a minute or two, just until pink. Add the brandy and stir then add the tomato sauce mixture. Stir it up and then crumble the feta cheese on top. Bake for 10 minutes or so until it heats through and the cheese is melty.

    Serve with rice.

abo – thanks for sharing. I will give it a try. Love the combination.
You can also spear them on rosemary spears and grill them – quite simple and elegant.
